Macular Degeneration

One in seven people aged over 50 have macular degeneration in NZ.

Your macula is crucial as it gives our clear, fine detailed central vision used for reading, driving, recognising faces and appreciating colour. Macular degeneration is the leading cause of blindness and severe vision loss in New Zealand. One in seven people aged over 50 now has some form of macular degeneration in NZ and unfortunately the vision lost to macular degeneration cannot be restored.

Reduce the risk of Macular Degeneration by having your eyes tested regularly. Early detection is critical. Treatment can delay progression of macular degeneration and make symptoms less severe. Early detection saves sight.

We use a unique combination of Widefield Laser Scan and gold standard Zeiss Optical Coherence Tomography that provides unmatched precision in the detection and monitoring of early retinal disease. These non-invasive imaging techniques show the macula in cross section in exquisite detail allowing early detection of the first signs of macular degeneration and start treatments when they are most effective.

When was the last time you had your eyes tested?
